Cradle your baby to sleep 

A mother feels very disturbed when the baby doesn't get relaxed and fall asleep. It is very common in newborn babies feeling difficulty to accustom to the new ambiance. Sometimes infant becomes night owls and begins crying uninterruptedly which is hard and intolerable to the infant as well as to the mother. Therefore, the infant needs some special care and affection of mother and the mother has to uphold patience coupled with warmth since the child doesn't know the feelings.

     Newborn babies do sleep about 17 to 18 hours a day for the first few weeks. Check the signs of the baby such as rubbing of eyes, faint dark circles under its eyes, pulling its ears or even crying, which means it is about to fall asleep. Let it to fall asleep on its own and if not then go for other alternatives. 

     Bath your baby with warm water at least an hour before it falls asleep and also after last feeding. The benefit of bathing the baby is it will settle down to relaxed sleep. You can also add droplets of Camomile while bathing, which will add pacification and further relaxation to your infant. Cover your baby with good and soft clothes. Many babies take pleasure in cozily enveloped in soft attires while others enjoy being wrapped up. 

     One of the best mechanisms of taking the infant into sleep is to croon a lullaby or tune a smooth Jazz music with a slow boogie in a dark room. Don't hesitate even to sing songs rhythmically even if it doesn't able to understand your verses. This will almost take the child into sleep. If it starts crying better lay it into a cradle and slowly swing the cradle. Almost every child enjoys being cradled and drift off easily in this way. Also as a bedtime routine, cuddle and kiss your baby to enter it into sleep making bedtime a story-time.

     If you feel it is tough to take him to sleep at home or if it resists to being cradled or falling asleep on bed then take your infant for an outside drive in a car. Driving in a car will surely fall it asleep as the vehicle moves, the child drift off easily feeling itself as in a carriage or a stroller.

     Some rhythmic noise like fan noise, machine noise, transmitter noise, etc. can take it into sleep. Instead of noises it is better to opt other means, as noises will wear down everybody's interest. So develop a routine of story-telling which will naturally lead to it's falling asleep. Keep the room clean and fill air with fragrance. Some babies do not sleep by night easily. If your baby is like this, just try to take him to sleep from early nightfall. Tickle the baby on its cheeks, pat on the legs, continue to feed until it falls asleep or make noise of sucking. By this the baby falls asleep easily. Sometimes it wakes up in the middle of the sleep because of incomplete sleep, missing mother's motion, warmth and also affection of the mother. In such events nurse and feed your baby with affection. 

     Massaging the baby can enhance the growth and also relaxes disturbed babies. While massaging don't use risky oils and use only prescribed oils, otherwise those will cause rashes and allergy to your lad.
